CUPS Calgary Website
CUPS Calgary, a science-based social agency, needed a new website—one that would serve three very different audiences while clearly communicating the science of brain development and resilience. I worked with the creative team at Evans Hunt to make this happen, and the new website launched in January 2019.

CUPS Calgary is a science-based social agency that helps vulnerable Calgarians build resilience. It provides a range of important services, from health care and addiction counseling to education bursaries and housing support. It’s a far-reaching, established organization with a lot of moving parts: clinics, outreach partners, volunteers, donors, staff, and clients.
The scale of CUPS is great for Calgarians, but it was bad for the CUPS website, which was littered with dead ends, different voices, and plenty of pages with too much of the wrong information. CUPS needed a clean, clear workhorse of a website that would triage different visitors and speak to them in a tailored, straightforward way. The CUPS team also needed to weave its foundational knowledge—the science of brain development and resilience—into every part of the website.
Working with the creative team at Evans Hunt, which was already engaged in rebranding CUPS, I sifted through and distilled all the existing content, developed three voices (for clients, supporters, and major donors), interviewed clients, and rewrote the entire site.
When CUPS relaunched its brand and website in January 2019, they were proud and delighted. So was I.
